TOOLS
This tool will break your lug nuts loose and re-torque with ease, all with just a rechargeable battery. I carried a breaker bar and 4-way tire wrench for years, but I should have upgraded to this power tool long ago.
This is a well made socket set that is complete with all the basics in both metric and SAE. It also comes with extension bars, adaptors, spark plug sockets and a set of deep sockets. Lifetime warranty.
A drill has proven to be one of the most useful tools for installing a variety of mods, and this is a great drill. I’ve drilled holes in my counter tops (soap dispenser), screen door (grab bar) and fiberglass basement bays (sewer hose carrier) among other places. This combo comes with an impact ready driver.
This is a very versatile tool! Creates easy cuts in almost any surface. I've used to create precision square "holes" in wood for new light switches, etc. Quick change blades for cutting, sanding, etc. Variable speed. Great addition to my toolkit.
Since the Dewalt drill doesn’t come with drill bits, this has worked out to be a compact and complete little kit of a wide variety of bit sizes.
These drill bits work in the right angle attachment as well as the Impact Driver. They are high quality, durable and drill straight.
As a compliment to the drill bit set, these are handy for quickly backing out screws to gain access to various places like the compartment in the floor under the J bed, the water heater compartment, etc.
This is a specialty tool to drill in tight spaces, but when you need it, you’re sure glad you have it! It requires “impact ready” drill bits like these.
This is a versatile tool that is surprisingly affordable. You can use it to measure the temperature on the inside/outside walls of the RV, the exterior refrigerator vents, the interior temperatures of your fridge/freezer including the food, etc. Measures -58℉ to 716℉.
These are by far the best wire strippers I’ve ever owned! They make a perfect wire strip every time including shooting out the wire insulation, all with a single squeeze of the handles. If you don’t plan to do your own electrical mods that require wiring, these won’t be necessary.
Wire crimpers are required for 12v wiring projects in the RV, and these are very high quality. They can also cut and strip wire, but the Klein Tools version listed above are the best for stripping. If you don’t plan to do your own electrical mods that require wiring, these won’t be necessary.
Second to a drill, this is the next most useful power tool in an RV! It has numerous functions and recharges quickly. This model is cordless and features variable speeds between 5,000 and 33,000 RPM.
This endoscope has a built-in camera and LED light that will help you fish wires in tight spaces. The image is broadcast wirelessly to your smart phone or tablet’s screen via WiFi (after you download the free app).
This special took kit includes everything you need to fish wires in tight spaces in a home, car or RV. I used this to fish wires up the wall near the refrigerator to mount the EMS monitor and battery monitor.
Very high quality torque wrench for various jobs underneath the RV including the installation and proper torque of the Hellwig Sway bar and Fox Shocks.
This wrench is a perfect match for the large drain plug in the Cummins Onan QD 3200 diesel generator. The closed end makes both the removal and the tightening of the drain plug an easy job when it’s time to change your oil.
This 15/16” socket is 6-points and 3/8” drive and is compatible with both the Dewalt Mechanics tool set as well as the Atwood 6-gallon water heater drain plug. For more info on its use, click here.
A sillcock is an outdoor water spigot, faucet or valve that is attached to the exterior of a commercial or industrial building. Since there is no handle on a sillcock, this “key” is required to start and stop the flow of water. While you won’t need this at a campground, it’s a $6 investment that can help you access water almost anywhere in a pinch.
Need to take apart your dashboard to check the connections behind your radio? This kit includes the necessary tools to get the job done (and not damage your dash). Also helpful for removing the black clips to the front grille if you need to gain access to the horn.
I’ve used these on a variety of mods. Rubber grommets help make an install clean and professional-looking while also protecting wires from the vibrations inherent in an RV driving down the road.
This is my favorite tape for convenient, on-the-go repairs. It is made to stick to rough, uneven, and unforgiving surfaces. Its weather-resistant shell withstands moisture, UV rays and temperature extremes. Perfect for RV applications!
